Logo adalah istilah penting dalam falsafah, psikologi, retorik, dan agama. Pada asalnya perkataan yang bermaksud "tanah", "suatu pengakuan", "pendapat", "harapan", "kata", "ucapan", "rekening", "alasan" menjadi istilah teknikal dalam falsafah, bermula dengan Heraclitus, yang menggunakan istilah ini sebagai prinsip ketertiban dan pengetahuan.
