Mayotte adalah sebuah jabatan dan rantau di seluruh Perancis yang terdiri daripada sebuah pulau utama, Grande-Terre, sebuah pulau yang lebih kecil, Petite-Terre, dan beberapa pulau kecil di sekeliling kedua-duanya. Nusantara terletak di utara Mozambique Channel di Lautan Hindi di pesisir Afrika Tenggara, iaitu antara Madagascar barat laut dan Mozambique timur laut. Kawasan Mayotte adalah 374 kilometer persegi dan, dengan 212,645 orang, sangat padat penduduknya pada 569 setiap km². Bandaraya dan wilayahnya yang terbesar ialah Mamoudzou.
