Mizoram
Mizoram adalah salah satu daripada negeri Timur Laut India, dengan Aizawl sebagai ibu kota. Nama ini berasal dari Mi, Zo dan Ram, dan oleh itu Mizoram bermaksud "tanah orang bukit". Di timur laut, ia adalah sempadan perbatasan negara paling selatan dengan tiga dari tujuh negara adik, iaitu Tripura, Assam, Manipur. Negeri ini juga berkongsi sempadan 722 kilometer dengan negara-negara jiran Bangladesh dan Myanmar. Penduduk Mizoram adalah 1,091,014, menurut banci tahun 2011. Ia adalah negeri ke-2 paling tidak ramai di negara ini. Mizoram meliputi kawasan seluas 21,087 kilometer persegi. Kira-kira 91% daripada negeri ini mempunyai hutan. Seperti beberapa negeri timur laut India yang lain, Mizoram sebelum ini adalah sebahagian daripada Assam. Ia menjadi negara ke-23 India pada 20 Februari 1987. Kira-kira 95% daripada jumlah penduduk Mizoram kini berasal dari pelbagai suku asal yang menetap di negeri ini, kebanyakannya dari Asia Tenggara, melalui gelombang penghijrahan bermula pada abad ke-16 tetapi terutama pada abad ke-18. Ini adalah tumpuan penduduk kesukuan tertinggi di semua negeri di India, dan kini mereka dilindungi di bawah Perlembagaan India sebagai Suku Berjadual.
