Sudut posisi, biasanya disingkat PA, adalah pengukuran yang diperoleh dari memerhatikan bintang binari visual. Ia ditakrifkan sebagai mengimbangi sudut dalam darjah bintang menengah ke peringkat primer, berbanding kutub langit utara. Sebagai contoh menggambarkan, jika seseorang memerhati bintang biner hipotetikal dengan PA dari 135 darjah, ini bermakna garisan khayalan dalam kanta mata yang diambil dari kutub langit utara ke pokok utama akan diimbangi dari sekunder supaya sudut NCP-PS akan menjadi 135 darjah.
