Rasional adalah kualiti atau keadaan yang munasabah, berdasarkan fakta atau sebab. Rasionalisme membayangkan kepatuhan kepercayaan seseorang dengan alasan seseorang untuk percaya, atau tindakan seseorang dengan alasan untuk bertindak. "Rasionalitas" mempunyai erti khusus khusus dalam bidang ekonomi, sosiologi, psikologi, biologi evolusi dan sains politik. Keputusan yang rasional adalah salah satu yang tidak hanya berasas, tetapi juga optimum untuk mencapai matlamat atau menyelesaikan masalah.
