Lachnanthes adalah genus tumbuhan monocotyledonous dalam keluarga bloodwort yang mengandungi hanya satu spesies, iaitu Lachnanthes caroliniana, yang biasanya dikenali sebagai redroot atau bloodroot. Kilang ini berasal dari timur Amerika Utara, dari tenggara Nova Scotia dan Massachusetts di utara, selatan ke Florida dan Cuba, dan barat di sepanjang Teluk Mexico ke Louisiana. Ia lebih suka tanah basah, berasid, biasanya berpasir, menyekatnya ke pelbagai habitat tanah lembap seperti rawa, pinelands, buaian dan pocosin, antara lain.
