Simarouba
Simarouba adalah genus pokok dan semak-semak dalam keluarga Simaroubaceae, yang berasal dari neotropik. Ia telah dikumpulkan dalam Simaroubina subtribe bersamaan dengan genera Simaba dan Quassia. Mereka mempunyai daun kompaun, dengan antara 1 dan 12 pasang risalah pinnat alternatif. Bunga mereka tidak bersetubuh, agak kecil dan diatur dalam panicles besar. Bunga individu mempunyai antara 4 dan 6 sepal dan kelopak dan antara stamen 8 dan 12. Buahnya adalah carpophore dan mempunyai sehingga 5 merakkarup drupaceous. Adolf Engler dan Arthur Cronquist memisahkan spesies dalam genus ini, berdasarkan terutamanya pada morfologi bunga mereka, tetapi juga menggunakan perbezaan struktur daun mereka. S. amara, S. glauca dan S. versicolor adalah spesies pokok benua dan sering dikelirukan satu sama lain, terutamanya di kawasan di mana lebih daripada satu spesies terdapat di flora. S. amara boleh dibezakan dengan mempunyai bunga dan anthers yang lebih kecil daripada S. glauca dan S. versicolor dan dengan itu mempunyai lurus, bukan kelopak melengkung; buahnya juga lebih kecil.
