Sebutan bahasa Inggeris sitar: / sɪtɑr / adalah instrumen bertopeng yang dipetik yang digunakan terutamanya dalam muzik Hindustani dan muzik klasik India. Alat ini diturunkan dari instrumen Persia yang serupa tetapi lebih mudah yang dikenali sebagai Setar dan pendahulunya Dutar. Sitar berkembang pada abad ke-16 dan ke-17 dan tiba pada masa kini di India abad ke-18.
