Tetanus
Tetanus adalah keadaan perubatan yang dicirikan oleh pengambilan gentian otot rangka yang berkepanjangan. Gejala utama adalah disebabkan oleh tetanospasmin, neurotoxin yang dihasilkan oleh bakteria anaerobik yang berkhasiat Gram-positif, Clostridium tetani. Jangkitan umumnya berlaku melalui pencemaran luka dan sering melibatkan luka atau luka tusukan yang mendalam. Apabila jangkitan berlangsung, kekejangan otot berkembang di rahang dan di tempat lain di dalam badan. Jangkitan dapat dicegah oleh imunisasi yang tepat atau profilaksis pasca pendedahan.
