Thuggee atau tugging merujuk kepada perbuatan samseng, kumpulan pembunuh profesional yang teratur. The Thugs mengembara dalam kumpulan di seluruh India selama enam ratus tahun. Walaupun samseng mengesan asal usulnya kepada tujuh suku kaum muslim, Hindu kelihatan telah dikaitkan dengan mereka pada masa awal; kepercayaan dan amalan mereka tidak menunjukkan pengaruh Islām. Mereka pertama kali disebut dalam Sejarah Fūrūz Shāh Ẓiyā'-ud-Dīn Baranī bertarikh sekitar 1356.
