Enjin Wankel adalah sejenis enjin pembakaran dalaman yang menggunakan reka bentuk putar eksentrik untuk menukar tekanan ke dalam gerakan berputar. Lebih banyak omboh balas bergelora yang biasa digunakan enjin Wankel memberikan kelebihan: kesederhanaan, kelancaran, kekompakan, revolusi tinggi seminit dan nisbah kuasa tinggi kepada berat. Enjin ini biasanya dirujuk sebagai enjin berputar, walaupun nama ini juga digunakan untuk reka bentuk yang sama sekali berbeza. Kitaran empat lejang berlaku di dalam ruang pembakaran bergerak antara bahagian dalam perumahan berbentuk epitrochoid seperti oval dan pemutar yang serupa dengan bentuk ke segitiga Reuleaux dengan sisi yang agak rata. Enjin itu dicipta oleh jurutera Jerman, Felix Wankel. Beliau menerima paten pertamanya untuk enjin pada tahun 1929, memulakan pembangunan pada awal 1950-an di NSU dan menyelesaikan prototaip kerja pada tahun 1957. NSU kemudiannya melesenkan reka bentuk kepada syarikat-syarikat di seluruh dunia, yang telah terus memperbaiki reka bentuk.
