Polo

Polo ialah sejenis sukan berpasukan yang mana matlamatnya adalah menjaringkan gol ke atas pasukan lawan sambil menunggang kuda. Sukan yang terkenal dengan gelaran "Sukan Para Raja" ini paling banyak dilariskan oleh bangsa British. Pemain mendapat markah dengan memukul sebiji bola putih kecil buatan plastik atau kayu ke dalam gawang pasukan lawan dengan menggunakan sebatang kayu pemukul yang berpemegang panjang. Sukan polo tradisional dimainkan dengan lajunya di atas sebuah padang rumput yang sepanjang 300 ela. Setiap pasukan polo terdiri daripada empat orang penunggang dan kuda-kuda mereka. Dalam polo arena pula, satu pasukan hanya terdiri daripada tiga pemain, apatah lagi ia melibatkan lebih banyak taktik pada kelajuan yang lebih perlahan dan masa bermain yang lebih singkat disebabkan gelanggang yang tidak sebesar polo tradisional. Polo dimainkan secara profesional di 16 buah negara dan bukan sebuah sukan Olimpik.
