reman (réman); tahanan ~ a) tindakan menahan seseorang selepas mendapat perintah drpd mahkamah bagi tujuan siasatan, dlm tempoh tertentu: sebelum ini dia pernah ditahan utk siasatan berhubung dgn pembunuhan itu tetapi dibebaskan selepas tempoh tahanan ~ tamat; b) seseorang yg ditahan selepas mendapat perintah drpd mahkamah bagi tujuan siasatan, dlm tempoh tertentu; mereman menahan seseorang yg dituduh melakukan jenayah ke dlm tahanan (penjara atau lokap) utk siasatan lanjut sementara menunggu perbicaraan dsb: mereka tidak dibenarkan ikat jamin dan direman sehingga kes mereka disebut semula di mahkamah; semua lelaki berkenaan direman di lokap Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah itu.
