Damar ialah rembesan hidrokarbon kebanyakan tumbuhan, terutamanya pokok konifer. Resin juga boleh dianggap sebagai getah yang dirembeskan oleh pokok. Resin dinilai untuk sifat kimianya dan berkaitan penggunaannya, seperti penghasilan varnis, bahan pelekat dan agen pelicauan makanan. Ia juga bernilai sebagai sumber bahan mentah untuk sintesis organik, dan antara bahan di dalam dupa dan minyak wangi. Resin fosil daripada pokok kuno membentuk amber.
