Tabla
Tabla adalah merupakan sejenis alat muzik dalam keluarga gendang, yang mempunyai bingkai kayu dan bertutup dengan belulang pada satu bukaannya. Tabla biasanya dimainkan secara duduk. Ia dimainkan dengan memalu secara langsung menggunakan tangan. Penciptaan tabla didapati di India. Ukiran di Gua Bhaja di negeri Maharashtra di India menunjukkan seorang wanita bermain Tabla dan satu lagi wanita melaksanakan tarian, sejak 200 SM. Taals telah berkembang sejak Veda atau Upanishad era di India. Hasilnya Pushkar telah wujud lama sebelum walaupun Pakhawaj. Ia agak mungkin bahawa suatu surat cara menyerupai tabla itu wujud banyak sebelum ini. Dengan bukti stabil terdapat dalam ukiran di gua Bhaje, ia boleh menyatakan bahawa yang Tabla adalah ciptaan India. Terdapat banyak ukiran lain Tabla di kuil-kuil di seluruh India. Sebagai contoh, ukiran 12 abad di Hoysala Kuil di Karnataka, India menunjukkan Tabla bermain wanita.
