Di sana, selepas kematian Aeneas, dia mendirikan kubu Alba-Longa, di mana dia memerintah. Dia dianggap sebagai pengasas jenius Julia. Ascanius (sau Iulus), fiul lui Aeneas și al Creusei. A fost luat de tatăl său din Troia incendiată și purtat în peregrinările acestuia pînă în Italia. Acolo, după moartea lui Aeneas, a întemeiat cetatea Alba-Longa, peste care a domnit. Era considerat drept întemeietorul gintei Iulia.
