Obiektyw achromatyczny
Obiektyw achromatyczny lub achromat to obiektyw, który ma na celu ograniczenie efektów aberracji chromatycznej i sferycznej. Obiektywy achromatycznej są korygowane, aby w tej samej płaszczyźnie przyciągnąć dwie fale. Najczęstszym rodzajem achromatu jest achromatyczny dublet, który składa się z dwóch indywidualnych soczewek wykonanych z okularów o różnej wielkości dyspersji. Zwykle jeden element jest elementem ujemnym wykonanym ze szkła krzemowego, takiego jak F2, który ma stosunkowo dużą dyspersję, a drugi jest dodatnim elementem wykonanym ze szkła koronowego, takiego jak BK7, który ma niższą dyspersję. Elementy obiektywu są umieszczone obok siebie, często łączone ze sobą i kształtowane tak, że aberracja chromatyczna jednej z nich jest odwzorowana na drugiej. W typie najczęstszym, dodatnia moc elementu soczewki koronowej nie jest dostatecznie wyrównana przez ujemną moc elementu soczewki krzemieniowej. Razem tworzą słabą soczewkę dodatnią, która przyniesie dwie różne długości fali światła. Wykonywane są również negatywne dubletów, w których przeważa element negatywny.
