Albite
Albite jest minerałem skaleń plagioklazowych. Jest to endymid sodu serii stałych plagioklazów. Jako taka reprezentuje plagioklazę o zawartości anarchitowej mniejszej niż 10%. Czysty albite endmember ma wzór NaAlSi3O8. Jest to tektokrzemian. Jego kolor jest zazwyczaj czysty biały, a więc jego nazwa pochodzi od łacińskiego albus. Jest to wspólny składnik w skałach felskich. Albite Albite krystalizuje z trójklinicznymi formami pinakoidowymi. Jego ciężar właściwy wynosi około 2,62 i ma twardość Mohsa 6 - 6,5. Albite prawie zawsze wykazuje krystalicznie bliźniaczki często jako drobne pręciki równoległe na twarzy krystalicznej. Albit występuje często w równych równoległych segregacjach na przemian z różową mikro-liną w peryferii w wyniku uwalniania po ochłodzeniu. Występuje on w masach granitowych i pegmatytowych, w niektórych osadach żył hydrotermalnych i stanowi część typowo greenschistowskich, metamorficznych fasad dla skał pierwotnej kompozycji bazaltowej. Po raz pierwszy został opisany w 1815 roku w przypadku wystąpienia w Finnbo, Falun, Dalarna w Szwecji.
