Ogólna definicja audytu to zaplanowana i udokumentowana działalność wykonywana przez wykwalifikowany personel w celu określenia poprzez badanie, badanie lub ocenę obiektywnych dowodów, adekwatność i zgodność z ustalonymi procedurami lub stosowanymi dokumentami oraz skuteczność wdrożenia.
