Kolory uzupełniające to pary kolorów, które po połączeniu w odpowiednich proporcjach tworzą białe lub czarne. Kiedy są umieszczone obok siebie, tworzą najsilniejszy kontrast i wzmacniają się nawzajem. Są one szeroko stosowane w sztuce i wzornictwie.
