W językoznawstwie (zwłaszcza gramatyki generatywnej) komplementarny (lub komplementarny) jest kategorią leksykalną (część mowy), w tym słowa, które mogą być użyte do przekształcenia klauzuli w podmiot lub przedmiot zdania.
