Lord Dundreary jest postacią brytyjskiego rocka z 1858 r. Our American Cousin autorstwa Tom Taylor. Jest on personifikacją dobrego, pozbawionego mózgu arystokraty. Rola została stworzona na scenie przez Edwarda Askew Sothern. Najbardziej znana scena dotyczyła Dundreary'a, który czytał list od swego biedniejszego brata. Sothern znacznie poszerzył scenę o wydajność. Powstały również liczne prace spin-off, w tym gra o bracie.
