Gnu, zwany także gnu jest antylopą w rodzaju Connochaetes. Należy do rodziny Bovidae, która obejmuje antylopy, bydło, kozy, owce i inne rogatki kopytne rogówki. Connochaetes obejmuje dwa gatunki, zarówno pochodzenia afrykańskiego, jak i czarnego gnu lub białego ogona; i błękitny gniew, albo pręgowany gnu.
