Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev (rosyjski: Михаил Сергеевич Горбачёв, tr. Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachyov, IPA: (posłuchaj), urodzony 2 marca 1931 r.) Jest byłym państwem sowieckim. Był siódmym i ostatnim liderem Związku Radzieckiego, pełniąc funkcję Sekretarza Generalnego Komunistycznej Partii Związku Radzieckiego od 1985 r. Do 1991 r. I jako głowa państwa od 1988 r. Aż do jego rozwiązania w 1991 r. (Zatytułowany jako przewodniczący Prezydium Rady Najwyższej w latach 1988-1989, jako przewodniczący Rady Najwyższej w latach 1989-1990 oraz prezydent Związku Radzieckiego w latach 1990-1991). Był jedynym sekretarzem generalnym w historii Związku Radzieckiego, który urodził się po rewolucji październikowej. Gorbaczow urodził się w Stavropol Krai w rodzinie chłopsko-ukraińsko-rosyjskiej, a nastolatkiem prowadził kombajny na zbiorowych gospodarstwach.
