Wyspa Grande-Terre jest nazwą wschodniej pół Gwadelupy, w Małych Antylach. Jest oddzielony od drugiej połowy wyspy Gwadelupa, Basse-Terre, wąskim kanałem morskim o nazwie Rivière Salée. Pointe de la Grande Vigie, w Grande-Terre, jest najbardziej wysuniętym na północ punktem wyspy Gwadelupa. Pomimo nazwy Grande-Terre jest mniejsza niż wyspa Basse-Terre. Nazywano je tak, w przeciwieństwie do znacznie mniejszych wysp Petite Terre, dwie bardzo małe wyspy położone około 10 km na południowy wschód od Grande-Terre. Wąskie wybrzeże Grande-Terre otoczone są rafami koralowymi, a sama wyspa jest płaskowyżu wapiennym. Jej powierzchnia to seria tocznych gór, białych piaskowych plaż i klifów. Plaże wyspy składają się z białych i czarnych piasków, a także plaż z złocistego piasku. Z dwóch wysp, Grande-Terre jest domem dla większości aglomeracji i kurortów turystycznych Gwadelupy. Wyspa Grande-Terre z kosmosu, wrzesień 1994. Północy jest w lewym górnym rogu w tym widoku. Wyspa ma powierzchnię 586,68 km². W 2006 r. Spis ludności Grande-Terre wynosił 197 603 mieszkańców mieszkających w 10 gminach.
