Prawa ruchu Newtona są trzema prawami fizycznymi, które razem stanowiły fundament mechaniki klasycznej. Opisują relacje pomiędzy ciałem a działającymi siłami, a ruchem w odpowiedzi na wspomniane siły. Zostały one wyrażone na kilka różnych sposobów przez prawie trzy wieki i można je streścić następująco: ▪ pierwsze prawo: podczas oglądania w inercyjnej ramce odniesienia obiekt pozostaje w spoczynku lub ciągle przemieszcza się ze stałą prędkością, chyba że działał na przez siłę zewnętrzną. ▪ Drugie prawo: F = ma. Suma wektorów sił F na obiekcie jest równa masie m tego obiektu pomnożona przez wektor przyspieszenia a obiektu. ▪ Trzecie prawo: gdy jedno ciało wywiera siłę na drugi korpus, drugie ciało jednocześnie wywiera siłę równą wielkości i przeciwnie do kierunku pierwszego korpusu. Trzy prawa ruchu zostały po raz pierwszy opracowane przez Isaaca Newtona w jego Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica, opublikowane po raz pierwszy w 1687 roku. Newton wykorzystał je do wyjaśnienia i zbadania ruchu wielu obiektów fizycznych i systemów.
