Onomastyka
Onomastyka lub onomatologia to badanie pochodzenia, historii i używania własnych nazw. Onomastyka pochodzi z języka greckiego: "ὀνομαστικός", co oznacza "przynależność do nazwy" i "ὀνοματολογία", pochodzącą z "ὄνομα", czyli "imieniem". Toponimy lub toponomia, badania nazw miejscowości, jest jednym z głównych gałęzi onomastyki. Antroponomia to badanie nazwisk. Onomastyka może być pomocna w eksploracji danych, przy użyciu takich aplikacji, jak rozpoznawanie podmiotów nazwanych, czy rozpoznawanie pochodzenia nazw.
