Ortogonalność
W matematyce ortogonalność jest zależnością dwóch linii pod kątem prostym względem siebie, a uogólnienie tego związku w wymiary n; oraz do rozmaitych relacji matematycznych, które opisywały nie zachodzące, niepowiązane lub niezależne obiekty jakiegokolwiek rodzaju. Szeroko rozpowszechnionym przykładem są płyty winylowe w latach sześćdziesiątych, które mogły uzyskać lewe i prawe sygnały stereo z jednego rowka. Pojęcie ortogonalności zostało szeroko uogólnione w matematyce, nauce i inżynierii, zwłaszcza od początku XVI wieku. Wiele z nich dotyczyło pojęcia funkcji matematycznych, rachunku i algebry liniowej.
