Paragraf jest samodzielną jednostką dyskursu na piśmie zajmującą się konkretnym punktem lub ideą. Akapit ma 5 typów. Ustęp składa się z jednego lub większej liczby zdań. Chociaż nie jest to wymagane przez składnię dowolnego języka, ustępy są zwykle oczekiwaną częścią formalnego pisania, wykorzystywaną do organizowania dłuższej prozy.
Definicja słowa paragraph w słowniku
Pierwszą definicją akapitu w słowniku jest jedna z serii podsekcji, z których każda zwykle poświęcona jest jednej idei, a każda z nich zwykle oznaczona jest początkiem nowej linii, wcięcia, zwiększonej przestrzeni między liniami itp.
