Przedmowa
Przedmowa lub proza to wprowadzenie do książki lub innej pracy literackiej napisanej przez autora pracy. Wstępne esej napisany przez inną osobę jest przedmową i poprzedzającą przedmowę autora. Wstęp często zamyka się uznaniem tych, którzy pomagali w pracy literackiej. Przedmowa ogólnie obejmuje opowieść o powstaniu książki lub o tym, jak powstała idea książki; często towarzyszą temu podziękowania i podziękowania dla osób pomagających autorowi w czasie pisania. Zwykle podpisuje się przedmowę; przedmowa przez inną osobę jest zawsze podpisana. Informacje istotne dla głównego tekstu są zazwyczaj umieszczone w zestawie notatek wyjaśniających, a może w "Wprowadzeniu", które można odczytywać z cyframi arabskimi, a nie w przedmowie.
