Prawdopodobieństwo
Prawdopodobieństwo jest miarą podobieństwa zdarzenia. Prawdopodobieństwo jest wykorzystywane do ilościowego określenia nastawienia umysłu do pewnej propozycji, której prawdy nie jesteśmy pewni. Propozycja zainteresowania ma zazwyczaj postać "Czy wystąpi konkretne zdarzenie?" Postawa umysłu ma postać: "Jak bardzo jesteśmy, że zdarzenie nastąpi?" Ponieważ dwa wyniki są uważane za wyrównane, prawdopodobieństwo "głowy" jest równe prawdopodobieństwu "ogonów", a każde prawdopodobieństwo wynosi 1/2 lub równoważnie 50% szans na "głowę" lub "ogony". Te pojęcia otrzymały aksjomatyczną formalizację matematyczną w teorii prawdopodobieństwa, która jest szeroko stosowana w takich dziedzinach, jak matematyka, statystyki, finanse, hazard, nauka, sztuczna inteligencja / komputerowa nauka i filozofia, na przykład wnioski o przewidywanej częstotliwości wydarzeń.
