Prezentacja grupy
W matematyce jedną metodą definiowania grupy jest prezentacja. Jedna z nich określa zestaw S generatorów, aby każdy element grupy mógł być zapisany jako iloczyn mocy mocy niektórych z tych generatorów, a także zestaw stosunków między tymi generatorami. Następnie mówimy, że G prezentuje nieformalnie, G posiada powyższą prezentację, jeśli jest to "najbardziej swobodna grupa" generowana przez S, która podlega tylko stosunkom R. Może to być zapisane równoważnie, ponieważ terminy, które nie zawierają znaku równości, są traktowane jako równe tożsamości grupy. Takie określenia nazywają się relatorami, odróżniając je od relacji, które zawierają znak równości. Każda grupa ma prezentację, aw rzeczywistości wiele różnych prezentacji; prezentacja jest często najbardziej zwartym sposobem na opisanie struktury grupy.
