Renografia radioizotopowa
Renografia radioizotopowa jest formą obrazowania nerek obejmującą radioizotopy. Dwa najczęściej stosowane radioaktywne środki farmaceutyczne to Tc99m-MAG3 i Tc99m-DTPA. Niektóre inne znakowane radioaktywnie farmaceutyki to OIH znakowane EC i 131 jodem. MAG3 jest zdecydowanie lepszym środkiem diagnostycznym niż Tc-99m-DTPA, szczególnie u noworodków, pacjentów z zaburzeniami czynnościowymi i pacjentów z podejrzeniem wystąpienia niedrożności. Prześwit MAG3 jest wysoce skorelowany z skutecznym przepływem krwi w osoczu, a klirens MAG3 może być stosowany jako niezależny pomiar czynności nerek. Po podaniu dożylnym około 40-50% MAG3 we krwi jest pobierane przez bliższe kanały z każdym przejściem przez nerki; bliższe kanały wydzielają MAG3 do przewodu rurowego. DTPA jest drugim najczęściej stosowanym radiofarmakrze nerkowym w Stanach Zjednoczonych, głównie dlatego, że jest najmniej kosztowny. Tc-99m-DTPA jest filtrowany przez kłębek i może być stosowany do pomiaru szybkości filtracji kłębuszkowej. Frakcja ekstrakcyjna DTPA wynosi około 20%, mniej niż połowę niż w przypadku MAG3. Jednakże, gdy stężenie kreatyniny w surowicy jest wysokie, zaleca się stosowanie EC.
