Reprezentatywność heurystyczna jest wykorzystywana przy orzekaniu o prawdopodobieństwie niepewności zdarzenia. Jest to jedna z grup heurystyk zaproponowanych przez psychologów Amosa Tversky'ego i Daniela Kahnemana we wczesnych latach siedemdziesiątych.
