Stellarator
Stellarator to urządzenie służące do ograniczenia gorącego plazmy z polami magnetycznymi w celu utrzymania kontrolowanej reakcji jądrowej. Jest to jeden z najwcześniej kontrolowanych urządzeń fuzji, po raz pierwszy wynaleziony przez Lyman Spitzer w 1950 roku i zbudowany w przyszłym roku w tym, co później stało się Laboratorium Fizyki Princeton Princeton. Nazwa odnosi się do możliwości wykorzystania źródła energii słońca, obiektu gwiazdowego. Stellaratory były popularne w latach pięćdziesiątych i sześćdziesiątych, ale znacznie lepsze wyniki z tokamak wzorów doprowadziły do nich spadające z łaski w 1970 roku.
