Strophanthus
Strophanthus jest rodzajem 35-40 gatunków roślin kwiatowych w rodzinach Apocynaceae, pochodzących głównie z Afryki tropikalnej, rozciągających się do Republiki Południowej Afryki, z kilkoma gatunkami w Azji, z południowych Indii do Filipin i południowych Chin. Nazwa wywodzi się z długich skręconych, gwintowanych odcinków korony, które w jednym gatunku osiągają długość 30-35 cm. Rodzaj obejmuje winorośli, krzewy i małe drzewa. Liście są przeciwległe lub wyszczuplone, proste szerokie lancetowate, długie 2-20 cm, z całym marginesem. Kilka afrykańskich plemion użyło Strophanthusa jako głównego składnika trucizny strzałkowej.
