Matriz ativa
A matriz ativa é um tipo de esquema de endereçamento usado nos monitores de tela plana. Neste método de mudança de elementos individuais de um display de tela plana, cada pixel está conectado a um transistor e capacitor que mantêm ativamente o estado de pixels enquanto outros pixels estão sendo endereçados. Isso deve ser contrastado com a tecnologia de matriz passiva mais antiga em que cada pixel deve manter seu estado passivamente, sem ser conduzido por circuitos. A tecnologia da matriz ativa foi inventada por Bernard J. Lechner na RCA e demonstrada pela primeira vez como um dispositivo viável usando transistores de filme fino por T. Peter Brody e seu departamento de Dispositivos de filme fino na Westinghouse Electric Corporation em 1974 e o termo foi introduzido em a literatura em 1975. Dada uma matriz m × n, o número de conectores necessários para endereçar a exibição é m + n.
