Alexithymia
Alexithymia / ˌeɪlɛksəθaɪmiə / é uma construção de personalidade caracterizada pela incapacidade sub-clínica de identificar e descrever as emoções em si mesmo. As principais características da alexitimia são disfunções marcadas na consciência emocional, no apego social e nas relações interpessoais. Além disso, os indivíduos que sofrem de alexitimia também têm dificuldade em distinguir e apreciar as emoções dos outros, o que é pensado para levar a respostas emocionais ineficazes e ineficazes. A Alexithymia é predominante em aproximadamente 10% da população em geral e é conhecido por ser comórbido com várias condições psiquiátricas. O termo "alexitimia" foi cunhado pelo psicoterapeuta Peter Sifneos em 1973.
