Os anabatistas são cristãos da Reforma Radical da Europa do século 16. Embora alguns considerem o movimento anabaptista como um ramo do protestantismo, outros o vêem como um movimento distinto. Os Amish, os Hutterites e os Menonitas são descendentes diretos do movimento. Os irmãos, Bruderhof e a Igreja cristã apostólica são desenvolvimentos posteriores em grupos anabaptistas. O nome Anabaptista é derivado do termo grego anabaptista, ou "aquele que batiza novamente". Este nome lhes foi dado por seus inimigos em referência à prática de "re-batizar" conversos que "já tinham sido batizados" como bebês. Os anabatistas exigiam que os candidatos batismais pudessem fazer suas próprias confissões de fé e assim rejeitaram o batismo de bebês.
