Peixe de olhos curtos
Os peixes de quatro olhos são um gênero, Anableps, de peixes da família Anablepidae. Eles têm os olhos levantados acima do topo da cabeça e divididos em duas partes diferentes, para que possam ver abaixo e acima da superfície da água ao mesmo tempo. Como seus parentes, os portadores vivos unidos, os peixes de quatro olhos só se acasalam de um lado, machos "entregues" com fêmeas de mão esquerda e vice-versa. Estes peixes habitam água doce e salobrosa e raramente são marinhos costeiros. Eles são originários de terras baixas no sul do México para Honduras e norte da América do Sul.
