Anteridium
Um anteridium ou antera é uma estrutura ou órgão haplóide produzindo e contendo gametas masculinos. Está presente na fase gametófita dos criptogamas como bricofitas e samambaias, e também nos psilotófitos vasculares primitivos. Muitas algas e alguns fungos, por exemplo ascomicetes e moldes de água, também possuem anteridia durante os estágios reprodutivos. Um anteridium normalmente consiste de células estéreis e tecido espermatogênico. As células estéreis podem formar uma estrutura de suporte central ou cercar o tecido espermatogênico como uma jaqueta protetora. As células espermatogênicas originam espermátides através da divisão celular mitótica. Em bryophytes, o anteridium é carregado em um anteridiophore, uma estrutura semelhante a uma caule que transporta o anteridium em seu ápice. Em muitas gimnospermas e em todas as angiospermas, os gametófitos masculinos foram reduzidos a grãos de pólen e sua anteridia foi reduzida a uma única célula geradora no grão de pólen. Durante a polinização, esta célula generativa se divide e dá origem a dois núcleos de esperma. A contraparte feminina do anteridium é o archegonium.
