Na arquitetura, a abside (ἀψίς grega (apsis), depois o absis latino: "arco, abóbada", apsis escrita às vezes, plural apsides) é um recesso semicircular coberto com uma abóbada ou semi-cúpula hemisférica, também conhecida como Exedra. Na abadia cristã românica, bizantina e gótica, arquitetura catedral e igreja, o termo é aplicado a uma terminação semi-circular ou poligonal do edifício principal no extremo litúrgico do leste (onde o altar é), independentemente da forma do telhado, que pode ser plana, inclinada, abobadada ou hemisférica.
