Memória Bubble
A memória Bubble é um tipo de memória de computador não volátil que usa uma película fina de um material magnético para armazenar pequenas áreas magnetizadas, conhecidas como bolhas ou domínios, cada um armazenando um bit de dados. O material é organizado para formar uma série de faixas paralelas que as bolhas podem se mover ao longo da ação de um campo magnético externo. As bolhas são lidas, movendo-as para a borda do material, onde elas podem ser lidas por um captador magnético convencional, e depois são reescritas na borda distante para manter o ciclo da memória através do material. Em operação, as memórias de bolhas são semelhantes aos sistemas de memória de linha de atraso. A memória da Bubble começou como uma tecnologia promissora na década de 1980, oferecendo a densidade de memória de uma ordem semelhante às unidades rígidas, mas o desempenho é mais comparável à memória do núcleo.
