Um vínculo exigível é um tipo de vínculo que permite que o emissor do vínculo mantenha o privilégio de resgatar o vínculo em algum ponto antes que o vínculo atinja sua data de vencimento. Em outras palavras, na data da chamada, o emissor tem o direito, mas não a obrigação, de comprar os títulos dos detentores de obrigações em um preço de chamada definido. Tecnicamente falando, os títulos não são realmente comprados e detidos pelo emitente, mas são cancelados imediatamente. O preço da chamada geralmente excederá o preço de par ou emissão. Em certos casos, principalmente no mercado de dívida de alto rendimento, pode haver um prêmio de chamada substancial. Assim, o emissor possui uma opção que paga, oferecendo uma taxa de cupom maior. Se as taxas de juros no mercado diminuíram no momento da data da chamada, o emissor poderá refinanciar sua dívida a um nível mais barato, pelo que será incentivado a chamar os títulos originalmente emitidos. Outra maneira de ver essa interação é que, à medida que as taxas de juros diminuem, o preço dos títulos aumenta; portanto, é vantajoso comprar os títulos de volta ao valor nominal. Com um vínculo exigível, os investidores têm o benefício de um cupom maior do que teria tido com um vínculo não exigível.
