O crake de milho, corncrake ou landrail é um pássaro na família ferroviária. Ele se reproduz na Europa e na Ásia, tanto no leste quanto no oeste da China, e migra para a África no inverno do hemisfério norte. É um imbecil de tamanho médio com partes superiores pretas acastanhadas e cinza-cinzentas, marcas de castanha nas asas e partes inferiores azul-cinza com barras brancas e vermelhas de ferrugem nos flancos e por baixo. A conta forte é tonificada, a íris é marrom pálida, e as pernas e os pés são cinza pálido. O juvenil é semelhante em plumagem ao adulto, e os pintinhos são negros, como com todos os trilhos. Não há subespécies, embora indivíduos do leste do intervalo de reprodução tendem a ser um pouco mais pálido do que os seus homólogos ocidentais. O chamado masculino é um krek krek alto, do qual o nome científico é derivado. O crake de milho é maior que o seu parente mais próximo, o crake africano, que compartilha sua faixa de inverno; Essa espécie também está mais preguiçosa e tem um rosto mais claro. O habitat de reprodução do milho é pastagem, particularmente campos de feno, e usa ambientes semelhantes nas terras de invernada.
