Ctesiphon / tɛsɨfɒn / foi a capital imperial do Império Parthian e do Império Sasanian. Foi uma das grandes cidades da antiga Mesopotâmia antiga. Estava situado em frente ao Tigris, de onde a cidade grega de Seleucia estava ao sul da antiga Babilônia. Hoje, os restos da cidade estão na governança de Bagdá, no Iraque, a aproximadamente 35 km ao sul da cidade de Bagdá. Ctesiphon foi a maior cidade do mundo de 570 até a queda em 637 durante as conquistas muçulmanas.
