O QUE SIGNIFICA DIELECTRIC LENS EM INGLÊS
Lentes de Luneburg
Uma lente de Luneburg é uma lente de índice gradiente esféricamente simétrica. O índice de refração da lente típica de Luneburg n diminui radialmente do centro para a superfície externa. Eles podem ser feitos para uso com radiação eletromagnética de luz visível para ondas de rádio. Para certos perfis de índice, a lente formará imagens geométricas perfeitas de duas esferas concêntricas concedidas uma sobre a outra. Há um número infinito de perfis de índice de refração que podem produzir esse efeito. A solução mais simples foi proposta por Rudolf Luneburg em 1944. A solução de Luneburg para o índice de refração cria dois focos conjugados fora da lente. A solução toma uma forma simples e explícita se um ponto focal estiver no infinito e o outro na superfície oposta da lente. J. Brown e A. S. Gutman posteriormente propuseram soluções que geram um ponto focal interno e um ponto focal externo. Essas soluções não são únicas; o conjunto de soluções é definido por um conjunto de integrais definitivas que devem ser avaliadas numericamente.
