Comissão de Direitos de Pessoas com Deficiência
A Comissão de Direitos de Pessoas com Deficiência foi criada pelo governo trabalhista britânico em 1999. Naquela época, a RDC era a terceira comissão de igualdade do Reino Unido ao lado da Comissão para a Igualdade Racial e da Comissão de Igualdade de Oportunidades. Seu presidente de 2000 a 2007 foi Bert Massie. A RDC foi encarregada de revisar o Disability Discrimination Act 1995 e recomendar sua alteração. Possui direitos de investigação e aplicação da legislação em matéria de deficiência, e foi responsável por informar os empregadores sobre a forma de garantir a igualdade de tratamento dos trabalhadores com deficiência. O RDC substituiu um corpo anterior e mais fraco, o Conselho Nacional de Incapacidade, estabelecido pelos conservadores na década de 1990. A aprovação do Equality Act 2006 significa que, em outubro de 2007, a RDC foi substituída por uma nova Comissão de Igualdade e Direitos Humanos com poderes em toda a lei da igualdade. O DRC era um órgão público não departamental do Departamento de Trabalho e Pensões. Sua sede estava no centro da cidade de Manchester com outros escritórios no centro de Londres, Cardiff e Edimburgo.
