Extensômetro
Um extensômetro é um dispositivo que é usado para medir mudanças no comprimento de um objeto. É útil para medições de tensão-deformação e testes de tração. Seu nome vem de "extensão-medidor". Foi inventado pelo Dr. Charles Huston, que o descreveu em um artigo no Journal of the Franklin Institute em 1879. Huston mais tarde deu os direitos de Fairbanks e amp; Ewing, um dos principais fabricantes de máquinas e balanças de teste.
