Mercado de câmbio
O mercado cambial é um mercado descentralizado global para a negociação de moedas. Os principais participantes neste mercado são os bancos internacionais maiores. Os centros financeiros em todo o mundo funcionam como âncoras da negociação entre uma ampla gama de múltiplos tipos de compradores e vendedores 24 horas por dia, com exceção dos fins de semana. O mercado cambial determina os valores relativos das moedas diferentes. O mercado de câmbio funciona através de instituições financeiras, e opera em vários níveis. Nos bastidores, os bancos passam para um número menor de empresas financeiras conhecidas como "concessionárias", que estão ativamente envolvidas em grandes quantidades de negociação cambial. A maioria dos comerciantes de divisas são bancos, então este mercado por trás das cenas às vezes é chamado de "mercado interbancário", embora algumas companhias de seguros e outros tipos de empresas financeiras estejam envolvidas. Negociações entre negociantes de câmbio podem ser muito grandes, envolvendo centenas de milhões de dólares. Por causa da questão da soberania ao envolver duas moedas, o Forex tem pouca entidade de supervisão que rege suas ações.
